The environment
We are located in a small rural hamlet of 24 inhabitants, a very peaceful place surrounded by farmland and oak and holm oak forests. It is a gentle, rolling landscape where our family has been working the land for many generations.
Our history goes back a long way. The first written references date from the 11th century, when a castle was built here, of which traces can still be seen inside the current manor house of Cal Farrés. Since then, these stones have witnessed the birth of new buildings and, ultimately, of the village itself, as well as the adaptation of its people to the circumstances and needs of each era. Following the same line, we have restored old buildings and farm outbuildings of Cal Farrés to create the rural houses of La Farraja and Les Corts. In this restoration, we have sought to respect traditional architecture as much as possible, finding a balance between a rustic atmosphere and a comfortable, functional environment, so we can welcome you and share with you these stones, walls, and vaults handed down by our ancestors.
But, without a doubt, the best part is the surrounding landscape. At every step, you will discover a mosaic of fields and forests tended by farmers, with extraordinary views inviting you to take a walk in contact with nature. There are paths and trails that will take you from one place to another, whether quietly on foot or by bike.
We are excited to share with you these hills that we love so much, and we are sure they will welcome you and make you feel as close to the land as we do.
