Cal Farrés is an old ancestral home located in Aleny, a 24 inhabitant village placed in a hill (680 m. High) surrounded by fields, orchards, and forests of oaks, holm oaks and pines, in a rural landscape where our family has been working the land for generations.

The history of the place gets lost in the memory of times, but the first written news come from the 11th century, when a castle, of which we can still find vestiges in the interior of the present house of Cal Farrés, was erected in that hill.

These old stones have seen since then how new buildings and, in short, the town arose around them and how its people adapted to the new circumstances and needs of the moment. Taking advantage of the old buildings and livestock facilities of Cal Farrés, we have also fitted the rural independent lodgings (ARI) of La Farraja and Les Corts out.

We have tried to respect the nature of the traditional architecture at the maximum during its restoration, searching for the balance between a rural and authentical atmosphere, but at the same time, comfortable and functional so we can share with all of you these stones, walls and vaults which we inherited from our ancestors.
